Who knew that French Connection had an older sister?! We like to consider ourselves knowledgeable about brands and new trends, but had no idea that French Connection had any link to the classic Great Plains clothing brand. Whilst good old FCUK is the trendy younger sister, Great Plains is the older sister- more classic and jam-packed full of awesome clothes…. pieces that will transcend any random fashion trend and be wearable for many years to come. And all at high street prices!
My personal ‘Pet Peeve’ No.1 – is with people who say “ooh, this?! I just threw this on”, when I ask them about their clothes. How on earth do you just throw something on? Am I missing a trick here? Isn’t that what we all want? A wardrobe full of clothes we can just throw on, and look good in, without thinking too much? Yes it is.
There are multi-tasking mamas, and then there are multi-tasking mamas with their names on our ballot boxes. Louise Rountree is one of the latter. A former lawyer and lobbyist, Louise is mum to three brilliant boys, and is now in the running to become an MP as the Liberal Democrat candidate for Chelsea and Fulham. Not only a good friend but also an inspiration to us both, we caught up with this true super woman to pick her brains about politics, political parties, mummyhood and life.

As much as I love hitting the fancy stores for some fancy make up, it is sometimes the high street stores that come up trumps in the make up department. Sometimes, something as simple as finding that cheap lipstick that only costs £6.99 and makes me feel like a million dollars, can put me back on track after an exhausting morning where all three boys have moaned non stop since 5:30am. Yes, I am looking at you, Max, Leo and Xander! After discovering this little nude, high street lippie, hitting that local Superdrug in between a run to Sainsbury’s and the Post Office has never felt so good!
We love discovering and supporting up and coming British brands, and we recently happened to stumble upon the brilliant designer Justine Tabak. Having worked as creative director at Fendi, Laura Ashley and M&S (to name but a few), she set up her fledging namesake label, Justine Tabak, where all the pieces are sourced and made in the UK. Justine only works with small British manufacturers, and her love and attention to detail is reflected in her beautifully made clothes. She finds inspiration for her clothing collections from across the British Isles, scouring the lengths and breadths of the country for new ideas. We have totally fallen in love with her collection, and one top in particular, stole our hearts!
We are delighted to announce that we have teamed up with the wonderfully talented nutritionist, Diana Warrings of Irma Green Nutrition to bring you lots of delicious and nutritious recipes and ideas for cooking for kids, hubbies, friends and yourself. We were lucky enough to meet Diana over ten years ago when she worked as our booking agent at Storm Models getting us both lots of great modelling jobs, and we kept in touch with her over the years as she retrained as a nutritionist. Her lovely, easy going manner is reflected in her healthy recipes and she is a font of knowledge of all things edible and nutritious.
We are Jessica and Caroline. Models, Mums, Friends. We have gone from modelling and living together in New York , to having five children between us, hopping between playgrounds, soft play, castings and shoots. Our quest to juggle it all (and not give up our horseriding obsession) has led us to set up NotSuchAModelMum together, a fashion, beauty and parenting blog with friendship at the heart.
