There is nothing better than a Summer’s day with the kids and close friends. On a hot day in Barcelona, Caroline and I discovered our shared love of wearing blue in the summer. It’s a simple and obvious choice, whilst also being timeless and classic. We both like to keep things simple – and summer clothes should work year after year – after all, we have enough things to think about (Kids! Work! Husbands! Friends!) without feeling the need to constantly update our summer wardrobe with pieces we will only wear once.
Caroline is wearing a Scotch and Soda boho peasant blouse, which works all year round, with some denim shorts. Similar shorts can be found here. With her blue Bvlgari Serpenti bag, and her winged Moschino sandals, she is good to go.
Jessica is wearing a tunic dress by Oysho, which looks a lot more expensive than it is; and best of all is great quality. The trick to wearing kaftans is to not let the billowiness overwhelm you. Show some skin by rolling up the sleeves; don’t tie the collar, and create shape by tying the rope belt and pulling some of the material up and out to create a waist and shape. The bikini top is here.
