We have just skidded our way home in the snow from the brilliant Facebook breakfast, celebrating both ‘International Women’s Day’ and also, the centenary of women being able to vote.  It was an incredible morning that was jam-packed full of incredibly inspirational, strong women: from Samantha Morton & Kanya King (founder of the MOBO Awards) to Met Commissioner Cressida Dick & Nicola Mendleshon (Vice President of Facebook for Europe, Middle East and Africa).

Upon leaving, we were asked to think about the things we would like to change in the world, and to go out and do it.  There are, frankly, many things we would like to change in this world, but let’s go one step at a time…

As women and mothers, supporting other women who need our help has always been at the top of the agenda.  And if we can combine even a tiny bit of that help with our love of fashion – then that is a pretty great combination.  Luckily, we have managed to do just this with these awesome tees!  For, every little bit of help makes a difference, no matter how small.

Mint Velvet have designed a range of classic breton tees where ALL the profits go to ‘Women for Women’ (a charity that helps women survivors of war rebuild their lives and choose their own futures.)  Thus far, this mind-boggling charity has helped over 462,000 marginalised women in 8 war torn countries – and because of this we are wearing these breton numbers with pride.

Made from the softest cotton and coming in two colours, a girl can never have enough breton tees.  The kissable lips embroidered at the front are a fun and quirky addition to an otherwise timeless stripe.  The subtle stitching of  “We are Women” embroidered into the top of the arm is another lovely little touch.

The zip detail and the design at the back are so flattering that they suit both non-pregnant and heavily pregnant ladies alike.  We are both already wearing these tops a lot…we love wearing them, and most importantly, we are wearing these tops with pride because of what they represent.  For us, they are not just lovely Breton tee’s, they are also a represent supporting other women who need our help, and also represent strength, femininity, support, timelessness and fun.  They have also also they have become a talking point among friends who notice the “We are Women” embroidery.  After all, we are all women, right?!
