With this pregnancy being my third one, you would think that I would be a maternity wear expert by now!  If only it was that simple.  With every pregnancy and year that passes, I have found that both my style and body shape have adjusted, and that this affects not only what I want to wear, and, also what suits me.  I’ve also discovered that this time around, I have been looking for essential pieces that I can wear, not only as maternity wear, but also post pregnancy.  And I have also chanced upon some other new up and coming brands that are finally putting maternity wear into the cool bracket.  So, here goes!

It is essential that the clothes you wear make you feel confident, as well as complimenting your blossoming body.  It is the confidence boost that I find the most important, as this will help you cope with the changes that are happening… especially if you are not used to seeing yourself so big!  These brands and clothes will make you feel confident and happy, ready to take on the world.

Nine In The Mirror a fantastic brand whose entire ethos is based around the concept of buying “normal” clothes from brands that will see you through the nine months of pregnancy and also work beautifully post baby.  What better way to convince yourself that you need that new outfit and Anya Hindmarsh bag if its not just for your pregnancy?!  A few of my must-haves from these guys are here.

In this pregnancy, I have opted to wear a lot more trousers, and Isabella Oliver has been a life saver!  I love the cut, style and quality of Isabella Oliver trousers.  I have found their trousers fit particularly well and are totally true to size.  Here are two of my favourites.

If you are feeling really fancy and want to invest in a pair of amazing quality leather trousers then their Rowsley maternity leather leggings are a must have.

I also love Isabella Oliver’s easy to wear tops, and two of my favourites are here.

Hatch is a fairly recent find for me, and was created by a like minded mum who was frustrated by maternity wear.  I love the energy and cooler silhouettes of this brand, and again they work brilliantly post pregnancy as well.  Here is my dream list!

I also love Slacks & Co, a brand that initially focused on developing fabulously fitting, tailored trousers for fashionable mothers to be, and then expanded into a whole collection.  If you are looking for fab fits and great fabrics, then these guys are great.

The one item I just love as a key layering piece from Slacks & Co are these fabulous Mary Mock shirt bibs. They are fantastic whether cooking a bun in the oven or not, and are super handy when you just don’t know what to wear.
