I love following fashion and learning about what trends, styles and colours are “in” right now.  This does, in no way mean that I am a slave to fashion – in fact quite the opposite.  For, despite those trends, I am always drawn to classic and simple shaped tops that have a little twist.  Recently I discovered a perfectly ‘on trend’ top in H & M, who always seem to have a knack of taking simple classics and mixing them up.

Whenever I pop into the H&M store in Barcelona on a whim, I never seem to leave empty handed, and this quick shopping trip between castings was no exception.  Glaringly obvious in-between the racks in the shop, and staring out at me with all its simplicity beside the florals and neon colours – this short sleeved grey and white marl T-Shirt ticked all my simple pleasure boxes!  The slightly oversized shape is both flattering and lends the top a relaxed charm, and the crew neck works on any body shape.  It is, however, the clever layering effect that sets this little jersey number apart from those simple T-shirt competitors.

The cool grey and classic white colours keep this top looking crisp and smart.  It is so versatile, as it can be thrown on with jeans or demin shorts as I have done here, or it can be work with a skirt for those summer office days.  This unsung hero top is an easy companion for any look…including companioning my son Carter – whose Barcelona football shirt works brilliantly with the muted colours of my top!  And at £12.99, what’s not to love?!

For my minimal make up look, I have kept it simple and used four products.  As a primer for my foundation, I have used Lancome’s La Base Pro Hydra Glow followed by their amazingly light and silky to touch foundation Teint Idole.  To add a spot of natural colour to both my eyelids and cheeks, I have used the Nars Matte Multiple in Mauritania.   To finish off my look I have used Lancomes Monsier Big Mascara.
Finally adding some texture to my curls, I’ve been using John Freida’s Sea Waves which is brilliant.
